    update oscam?

this may be a stupid ass question but i've looked and can't find the answer, so i thought i'd ask before i go messing with my pc again.
i have oscam running on a linux pc, how do you go about updating the revision? like mine is 4162 or something and now they are up too 5185? is it just a case of uploading something or do you have to go through download recompile and replace?

i don't even know why i need the newer revision its just bugging me, i cant stop messing with things

      to update oscam
      you need to download oscam
      http://tinyurl.com/5w2eqqh

      unzip it
you will find a load of files
if you are using oscam on a pc
      you need this file
      oscam-svnX-x86_64-pc-linux

rename it to the same as the old oscam
      then overwrite the old one
      restart oscam
      thats it

when you unzip oscam these are the files you will see

      Code:
      available versions:
      - oscam-svnX-arm-coolstream Coolstream
      - oscam-svnX-x86_64-pc-linux 64 Bit Linux PC
      - oscam-svnX-mips-freetz Fritzbox Router
      - oscam-svnX-mips-tuxbox DM500HD, DM800, DM7025, DM8000
      - oscam-svnX-powerpc-tuxbox DM500, DM500+, DM600, DM7000, DM7020
      - oscam-svnX-tripledragon Triple Dragon
      - oscam-svnX-openwrt-little_endian-kernel24 OpenWRT Router with Kernel 2.4.x
      - oscam-svnX-openwrt-little_endian-kernel26 OpenWRT Router with Kernel 2.6.x

If updating OSCam, keep a backup of the old one in case the new version is buggy

What flavour of linux are you running? There are precompiled versions available or you can download the latest svn and compile it yourself.
