Hi guys complete newbie to the dreambox and this world altogether although i used to have a eurovox anyway just a few questions if you can help it would be great

Can i buy a dreambox pre-flashed?

can i run a dreambox off my virgin media broadband?

do i need a card etc?

where best to buy what i need?

1) yes you can, google ukdreamshop
2) yes you can... you need good internet speeds and quality.
3) no you dont
4) refer to no.1

But as satsmo said... you need to read almost everything in the dreambox section. you'll need to know it, if you have problems. The search bar is your friend!

I have to admit if you've not ventured into the sat scene before it can be complicated, I spent months just reading before I even went out an purchased my dm800hd.

After the box arrived I then did a few more weeks of reading

From what I've seen all dreamboxes come pre-flashed, mine came with Gemini5 on it so was good to go out of the box.

For internet speeds you'll need good speeds if you're downloading at the same time, I've only got 6mb down and 0.6mb up and even when downloading I don't get any glitching.

You don't a card to get channels and I purchased my box from China (I think) cause it was cheaper

Don?t get linux STB unless you have basic idea what to do with it. You might get dissapointed. Still go for it if you want to lern something new. There is a lot to learn.
