Cannot connect to HDD in DreaMbox from PC

    Cannot connect to HDD in DreaMbox from PC

    Hi any idea how to connect to the esata HDD connected to my dreambox from my pc, tried the usual \\192.168 etc but will not see the drive any ideas where I am going wrong.

    In windows explorer go to the toolbar & click TOOLS -> MAP NETWORK DRIVE

    In the mapping dialog box, look to the bottom & you will see "sign up for online storage or connect to a network server"
    Click that bottom link
    for the address, use ftp://[email protected]/media/hdd/ (and of course change the box IP to match yours)

      Hi tried that on win7 have no box at the bottom to connect to a network server works fine in browser with ip address can view videos etc noticed that samba server can be activated on dreambox maybe i need this send out a broadcast to the network.

        Hi managed to get it working as an FTP folder but what i really want if possible is to see the drive as a share (drive) like my nas box is this possible or am i asking too much.

          Windows 7 users can map drive using:

          \\DM800\Harddisk

            Hi tried to map network drive using \\DM500HD\Harddisk and still will not find, any more tips.

              Hi fixed it you have to make sure that Samba Server is activated on Dreambox and set to start on boot.
