    Eurobird channels missing

Hi All. I am new to the scene but have found this site very helpful in understanding the (very) basics.
I had a motorised dish with dm800hd installed by a professional but noticed that after scanning 28.2e I was missing about 100 channels. From what I can see it is the eurobird ones.
Using guides on this I have tried scanning that transponder manually but do not get a lock. I cleared my channels lists etc but to no avail. I am on usals with a 80cm dish.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

update the satellites.xml file on your box then do a rescan with the new file in place.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry I should have mentioned that I had already downloaded and updated the satellites file.
Is it possibly an alignment issue? One or two of the channels came in briefly in the first one scan after I reinstalled the image but some were jumpy. They disappeared again when I rescanned.

just some more info. Last night I installed the UNOFFICIAL DREAM ELITE V.133DV3 PHOENIX with Catseye bouquets. On first scan all the channels came in but quite a few showed just a black screen when you tried to view them (my cams are working). On subsequent scans more channels disappeared from the listing and some channels like CH4 are breaking up.

I have also noticed the dish is quite susceptible to weather even light rain causes breaking up of picture.

Any help of insight would be greatly appreciated

Firstly, try zapping to a channel with poor signal/break up and take note of the signal your receiving. Then, goto your positioner and nudge the dish left and right and see if the signal levels improve. This should indicate whether your dish is slightly out of alignment.

I would also try a different LNB.

if the dish has just recently been fitted i suggest you ring the installer and get him back out . it would seem either the lnb has an issue or the dish is not aligned correctly but either way if the dish has only been fitted recently you should be covered by the guarantee .
i love it when a dreambox comes together.

Have tried as MrFug suggested but no joy. The signal only gets weaker as I nudge left or right. The dish is at the top of the gable wall with the ground sloping away below so i have been unable to get near the LNB. Will give the installer a call and see how it goes.

              Thanks again

I had the opportunity to try another Dreambox 800 with my dish and it worked fine. I then tried my box at another house with a fixed dish and had the exact same problem.

So looks like a faulty tuner.

The box is now back with the on-line seller for repairs.
