Crossepg will not load after replacing HDD

Hi replaced my extenal HDD with another one (2.5" rather than 3.5") initialised ok everything looking good (ext3) downloaded epg populated crossepg folder as normal.
Thought all ok checked no epg done again still the same, put back the old hdd restarted all ok.
New hdd records ok seen as a samba share but no epg any ideas is there anything i've missed ?
Just thought, that when enigma started on the old hdd it spins for a while whereas the new one only briefly flashes which makes me think that it is not reading the crossepg files although they download and parse ok.

    Regards

Did you try to force the epg?

Hi just been playing again, very strange rebooted new hdd found but now when you go to download error comes up 'epg database not found' go back to config and the option for hdd has disappeared reboot and it shows again.
Just plugged the old hdd back in restarted went to download everything fine parsed etc?
Just used my nas for crossepg in config and all works ok really strange as to why i'm having so much trouble with the new hdd.

The old HDD will already have the epg.dat file from the previous crossepg download.

The new hdd is it initialised correctly? And as Freck said you have checked the path? Also which crossepg version are you using?

Hi using nemesis 2.2 crossepg version 0.6.2(svn304) this was updated a couple of weeks ago as for the path shows dev/sda1 /media/hdd if this what you mean.
You mention epg.dat being on the old hdd although i was able to do a fresh update to my nas and it worked fine.

You NAS is mounted correctly so it will populate the epg in the correct manner. I am using the latest 305 version but I keep my epg and picons on an external USB stick but use a symlink to HDD.

It looks like your new HDD is either not mounted or initialised correctly. Some HDDs will give a path of sda or sda1 and as a result the path may look OK but may not be pointing to it.

Telnet to your box, type mount and find out what it says when the new HDD is mounted and also check it is configured to HDD in crossepg although I presume it is given the old HDD and NAS work fine.

Would you not consider using a pen drive for EPG/Picons as it is a better solution and stop the internal HDD from spinning all the time?

Sorry I assumed it was a DM800 wrong thing to do I know.

It looks like it is mounted fine, but I do not use a DM500HD to simulate your problem but I would try to reformat/initialise the new HDD again and then download/parse a fresh epg from crossepg again.

If that does not work try to copy the epg.dat file from the old HDD to the new HDD just to see if it populates the epg correctly.

Sorry I cannot be of more assistance.

That is why your epg is not populating, you should have a file called ex.epg.dat also in crossepg.

Hi re initialised the drive again this time it also created the movie folder had to do it twice though, and a crossepg folder, i cannot be sure but i thing i copied the saved data from the old hdd across which i think was set up for the old hdd anyway done a fresh download parsed and epg now shows.
Do not have the ex.epg.dat file but i think i read that the crossepg program for nemesis is different.
                          Thanks
