    Using ccam - freezing

    Hi,

If you use ccam and get freezing is it always the line or could something else be wrong.

I read that Mgcamd is better to use, is this correct and does this help freezing ?

How do I get mgcamd ?

its generally means you have an unstable server... does it freeze on the FTA channels..??

CCcam is the best, bar none, its the most widely used..

As an alternative i'd probably push to NewCamd.. Depends on what channels you want really

No freezing on the fta channels.

Everyone else seems to say there is no freezing on the server though so I thought it must be me.

Could it be my internet connection as i'm using a wireless vonets.

I dont think its the vonets,i use homeplugs and they are fine.
Could be you are downloading torrents this would affect things but like opsmonkey said its probably 99% the server your using.
Check the ecms on the premium channels and see how high they are, that will give you an idea if its the server.

if its not the server the next obvious thing would be the dish alignment (check as many channels as you can and see what the signal strenght levels are ) all being well with your dish a dm500s should display a signal strenght of 90 plus % and an agc level about the same ,even if your signal levels dropped into the late 80s you should still have relatively freeze free pictures . you could also check your broadband speed ,is anyone downloading files or watching movies on a second pc in the house as that will cause freezing pictures if you have a slow broadband speed . failing that maybe try installing a different version of cccam .

If ecm times are ok then also try upgrading your router firmware, or to test, plug box direct to modem to eliminate network problems.

check the ecms like everyone been saying.

and you will see they are probably pretty high.......in which case the server is probably shite. like loads are....

also if it's really bad over the weekend or evenings (peak time viewing)....probably the server.

why not try a test line on another server if it continues then you will know its your set up.

The snr is between 84 and 88% and the ecm seems to go from .200 to about .700.

                      The agr is 99%.

I noticed a glitch and theo ecm was .700 this was on espn america hd.

                      I'm on hop 1

What do these figures look like ?

The ecm timing looks high but that could be caused by your internet connection also. For a glitch free internet connection used a wired connection if possible.

If you are paying for a server please ask them as they should help you further. CS is a topic we allow to a certain point.

To get a good picture it needs to between 0.000 to 0.400 any higher you will get the odd glitch or stick.
Personally i dont think theres a server out there who are completely perfect,pm if you know one
Mine is hovering around the 0.200 range.

I've really got to stay wireless as the router is in another room and I don't want a cable running through the house.
