    satellites.xml

    Quick Q.

If I copy satellites.xml from etc/tuxbox on my current dreambox and then ftp it into a new dreambox will that save me having to re-scan all sats on the arc?

Also if I copy the contents of media/hdd/movie can I just ftp that to a new hdd in another dreambox saving my recordings?

the satellites.xml file contains the settings for the transponder data, what you would need to do is copy the bouquet from your existing receiver to the new one. presuming that the older box is also a E2 based receiver.

as for the recordings. yeah that should work.

i copy the sattellites.xml file to give the list of sattellites i have on one box onto another.

then just scan for the channels, or load a bouqets list and job done

Aye, I already had the bouquets ready to ftp.

Looks like the recordings are out though.

Just spoke with someone who done this last week and said 9hrs to ftp 200GB to PC.

Another 9hrs to ftp to HDD - I have 380GB so think I'll just have to delete them!

          Just an update on this:

The bouquets were not recognised for some reason.

I tried ftp by DCC and Filezilla into etc/enigma2 and they would not appear in favourites on the receiver.

Even re-started the GUI a couple of times and nothing.
