newenigma picons

anyone managed to get the picons working on the newenigma 3.2.1 image? i've tried following flipflops instructions, but cant get them visible regardless of which location i try.

I put them in the folder picon then a sub folder piconHD that was already there and the sgt flip flop ones work for.me with that image :-) I'm sure that's the right folder name but if it doesn't work ill check for sure mate :-)

found the piconhd folder you mention, but still not working when i drop them in there - could it be because i've still got the usb stick inserted which has the picons on it?

It could be yeah I'm not sure, or you've changed some settings that have caused it to not work?

I've just put RamiMAHER version 3.2.2 (snapshot 27th July) on my DM800 today and the following has got picons working:

1. Default Image

2. I couldn't remember the proper name of the folder (PiconHD) so I went to Blue button --> Newnigma2 Services --> Manage additional software --> online installer --> Add/Remove Picons --> added picon-hd-kabel (creates the right folder on Picons\Piconhd)
3. Reboot enigma
4. Copy the SgtFlipFlop picons to that PiconHD folder above and it works fine for me.

Under Expert settings on the Newnigma2 services menu my picon location is /picons/ maybe you have put /usb/picons/ or something and it needs changing?

Picons do work on Newnigma 2 though so maybe do a rebuild of the box if you can?

There's also:

Blue button --> Newnigma2 Services --> OSD Settings

Both of those menus have settings in and mine are all defaults that come with the image. If you post your settings I'll confirm what mine are if they're different.

problem i have is that i've set up the multiquick button to bring on the cooltv guide with blue button press so cant get to that menu and cant seam to disable to quickbutton

There is a very very easy way to do this lads through TSPanel


from memory

Select Tunisa Sat
PiconHD
Astra 28.2e

Install.

Restart Enigma2. You're done.

tried that and got loads of errors during the download saying file/directory not found for each picon, so took ages and got no where!

that's interesting, as i just done it and works fine.....only thing is they are all for flash.

you may have no spare flash memory and that could be the reason it has not worked.

maybe uninstall some other addons that you don't use and try again...

this is how i done my picons on a dm800se original

blue button > newnigma2 services < system tools > expert settings

then edited the expert picon folder to show this

/media/hdd/piconHD/

THEN PRESS GREEN BUTTON TO SAVE

EXIT till you arrive at newnigma services the go into osd settings


go to skin picon location and change this till it shows

expert ( /media/hdd/piconHD/)

same for lcd picon location

THEN PRESS GREEN BUTTON TO SAVE

EXIT till you arrive at newnigma services the go into MANAGE ADDITIONAL SERVICES

then into add/remove picons

pick any of the picons and install

this will put the picons in for you


if you want to change ie put your own picons for your sat

ie like sgflip

then go to your ftp

and go to the folder /media/hdd/piconHD/piconhd

and add all your picons
