dreambox 800HD vs openbox hd s10

    HI Everyone :-)

Got a dreambox 14 months ago and had glitching probs on HD channels from day one.

Now the tuner seems to have packed in completely, opened it up to see about replacing it and it isn't plug and play, it loos soldered in there. Is that it goosed then? :-( Very annoyed!!!

Been recommended by someone to get a openbox hd s10, it is significantly cheaper than the dreambox so what type of stuff will I be missing out on with this?

Thanks for the help and if anyone knows an easy way of swapping soldered tuner I'd be well up for hearing it

    HI,
instead of being spoonfed use the search function on the forum and try and find the answers to some of your questions by reading through the relevant threads. Upload a pic of your tuner so it can be determined whether or not your tuner is soldered in

My Dm is about the same age and i hardly get a glitch its a Rev j or k tuner so more likely a crap server.
Im no expert on the Openbox but you can get a Dream box 800hd for just over 100 quid nowadays and from what ive seen would buy one over the Openbox.
End of day more support out there for dreams.
        Andy.

I took my s9 back, was very very basic, to the point of annoying.

openbox s10 are a bag of sh*t mate, dont even go anywhere near one, not much support i.e bouquets and epg's,

as for the tuner it should slot in and out on a dm800, take the top cover off and the backplate few screws and nuts and the tuner slides out 10min job max

Love my 800HD, never owned a openbox but from what I have read about them I wouldnt own one, sound very basic, no epg and read something about certain channels causing issues which meant you had to delete the channels.... odd.

same here no contest against a dm800, great support, great interface, full epg, never had a openbox s10 but seems very basic couldnt live without epg and looks really amature compared to dm800.
