    DM500HD or DM800HD?

    Hi,

I returned my DM800HD boxes as they were not working clones. I would like a little advice.

I am after buying some HD Dreambox clones, not worried about hard drive recording and would like to know which box is better the 500HD or 800HD, ie which ones have the more stable clones and perform the best. The second question is can someone recommend a good supplier for these, pref UK based (if against rules please pm me).

    Thank you.

The clone 800 is perfectly solid, provided you buy the pro version, the 800se is also really good and worth the extra IMO . Avoid the 500 HD,
personally I buy from Hong Kong, yaoxin are very good and will do you an se for 150 delivered

Thanks for that. What is the difference between to Pro and the SE. I can get the Pro in the UK for 150.

Hi, the se model is faster using 400hz processor whereas the older pro model only uses 300hz.

?150 seems to be a very good price. Go for the pro. U wont beat ?150 from the uk. Try gumtree, call all the sellers, u can see the box in action at their homes. Note : they hike prices as ppl haggle down prices.

Thanks. But for the average user, in the short/mid term (say 5 years), is there any advantage having the extra speed? What differences in operation would I see? Is it just improved channel change speed, or is there more to it?

The se will outperform the standard 800 in all departments due to the better processor, it can stream video natively without the need for vlc running on PC. Plugins load faster and run smoother too.
Well worth the extra IMO mate

Still think the jury is out till more people get one and leave a review.
Was looking at one myself but cant convince paying the extra for something similar that might have a few teething problems at the beginning.

andy. you know pretty well i had problems with mine.....my own doing.

but since it's been running solid mate. hasn't been off in a month and the picture i thought did seem better but that was confirmed by someone else who got one and i helped them out a bit on pm. they suggested the pic is better and i have to agree.

it has a built in fan....spped is definately there and quality along with it. it feels and performs like a solid box.

2 card slots as well. i haven't seen anybody saying bad things about it.

i would say go for it mate for sure. ?150 delivered is a bargain for that box considering the competiton.

Southpaw, like the prices of these other units. If I got a BM800SE as my main box running Oscam, could I use these boxes in the bedroom running CCcam and see full package in bedrooms? Is it easy to get the software on these boxes? Where do I get the software tools and software. Finally is it worth paying a little extra (20 pounds) to get these boxes as they have a faster cpu "IBOX X4 HD" and are they well supported?

                              Thanks
