    Box recommendation

Hi, and sorry for noob question, I'm shifting from cable to satellite.

I'll be getting a box soon but would appreciate some advice first.

Here are my needs: bearing in mind I do not want/need hi def.

I'll be needing a motorized system as I will be wanting to receive sevices from

    Eutelsat W2M at 16?East (Tring - conax)

    and

    Eurobird/astra?? at 28.2?East ()

Box should be capable of cs if I decide to do so in the future with any fta services.

    Any help appreciated.

The Blade Media BM7000 is a good box if you are wanting a good EPG simple to use HD and USB slot to make it a PVR. (around 150)

If you are wanting extra features such as streaming to internet, watch on your ipad etc then the Dreambox DM800 clones are good. (around 110)

If you just want a SD box then the DM500 clones are very good and cheap. (around 50)

            Thanks for the replies.

My main concern id for the future, In my head, I have one box upstairs, and one box downstairs.

28.2E card in downstairs and 16e card in upstairs, and want to be sure that I will be able to get both sets of services on both boxes.

Not asking for detail on how, just confirmation of its viability.

            Thanks again.

Should be fine but only the downstairs box will move the dish and obviously you can only watch one sat at a time so if its pointing at 16 your stuck on 16.

Why pay ?40 more than you need to when you can get one from China in 4 days for ?110,no brainer even if you get done on duty.

Thanks for the suggestion mart16 but I agree with andy91, I reckon could get them for cheaper, but also not sure about china, and very much disinterested in HD anyway.

I suppose I could try one of those twin lnb dealys, you know those that point to different sats on same dish. Is that possible with 16 and 28 east?

if you are not interested in HD or using it as a PVR then get a DM500 clones no doubt.

This is the cheapest I have seen one (the one i have) ?41.50 shipped. (Mine took about 3 weeks to come tho, you could pay extra if you are in a rush for it)

DVB-S Standalone Digital Satellite Receiver with LAN Port/RS232/YPrPb/CVBS/SPDIF - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

It a dm518, same as dm500 but with component outputs.

                        Thanks for the link joetwizzy.

Not to sure about it though, with not having a card slot, I imagine this is a major knock to what I'm wanting, Tring. and Sly which both require cards.

If you mean monoblock lnb im pretty sure they have to be near so you could have 13 and 19.2 but not 13 and 28 if you know what i mean.
I paid all in for 1 metre set up with twin lnb for 170 quid but if your capable then you could probably do it for 100 quid.
Cant understand why you dont want hd as i cant watch anything else now ive got it.

Its very rare that I even turn the TV on, maybe once or twice a week, and I can see the picture just fine. I certainly don't care about who is sitting in row e12 seat 234 in the stands of a football match

Simply not interested in gadgets and gizmos, my phone is a nokia 3310, maks and takes calls. thats what a phone is for etc...
