    What cable do I need, - Dreamup.

    Hey there, I have bought two cables now and just not having no joy, USB to RS232 Cable, Could anyone point me in the correct direction of what i need ? thanks..

    Off Ebay or a store I can go buy it from today,

      if you have aready got a usb to serial convertor
      have you loaded the uhart driver from dream to get
      the usb to serial to work, i just plugged the cable in
      my computer and connected the null modem cable
      from it to the rs232 port on the dm800 and windows 7
      loaded a driver for me, also i got my usb/serial cable from
      maplins, but if your computer did'nt load the driver. go to
      this site and scroll down and you will see the uhart driver
      and see if this helps

      also if your near rainford there is a company that sells all
      cables at very good prices [ kenable.co.uk/ ]
      i usualy ring them and collect from them so no postage

          When I plug it in to my PC I get, Device Mailfunction error, Also can't find com port.

                          eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
                          and you need a null modem cable to connect with it
                          and depending how far your computer is from the dreambox
                          is how long the one you has to be, take a look at the kenable site

                                  i have something similar i am trying to connect to dreamup with my dm500hd but always get this message:
                                  upload complete waiting for acknowledge
                                  any ideas will be great

                                      if it's a original you need dreamup 1.3.3.8
                                      and if a clone you need a patched dreamup version
                                      also have you ticked use network and got both
                                      computer and box ip's correctly set on the panel

                                          Do I need a patched version of dreamup as I'm using a clone, If so can I get the link, Also can you link me to the EXACT products I need from ebay to flash from my laptop. USB!

                                                  Am in the pool if you get stuck 5 min job................Paul

                                                      Really awkward it is to be honest paul, Really not sure what I am doing wrong, and not sure if I have the exactly correct equipment or what not, The box is also a Clone.
