Usals should be fine in simple mode, choose postioner and put correct long and lat in and a decent set of bouquets like Catseyes or Flipflops will do the trick.

usals is the easiest. if using a motorised setup mate. just stick your long and lat in and will work with minimum fuss.

if its a fixed dish then even easier..simple and then shoose 28.2 and thats it...dont even need usals on for it.

On that box you should be getting near on 100% so sounds like your dish is a bit off.

You wont get 100% on any channel with the SE tuner, maybe you are referring to the 800 pro? On the SE with the BCM tuner, you will get a more "Dreambox" like tuner reading.

Either way the alignment is off as the signal quality is way too low.

                i got a dm800se the other day,
was having same issue, solved by using usals instead of diseqc.
i also was only use to diseqc, couldnt get my dm500s to work with usals!

                usals is a lot easier

Well you learn something new every day
I would of thought the Se would match the pro.
Perhaps its not as good Alom

It's better, the tuner readings are somewhat elevated, (for want of a better word), on the pro. Lower readings on the SE will not reflect a lower QOS.

before i disconnected my dm500s on thor 0.8w,
i was getting 95% snr and 90% agc,
but when i put dm800se it was saying tune fail!

usals will solve this problem mate,
put it on simple/positioner then just put your long and lat in,
send cateyes using dreamedit (bouquets which are in sticky)
then select channel and away you go.

hey mate, on the dm800se menu you can choose whether to have snr or db showing on infobar,
but i wanted to ask, what is the value of db in terms of snr?

1 db = how much percentage snr, so to speak?
hope my question dont sound stupid

i will have you know boys that you can get snr 100% and i have uploaded some screenshots previously which show clearly the snr at 100%.

believe me andy it's as good as everyone makes it to be.

and here is the link to those screenshots. thank you

Yep, alom is correct, pulling 100% here from a 1m dish with a 50m cable run
