I am thinking that i might do this and start all over again.
Buy doing this will it be as if i have just taken out of it box ?

a factory reset will only remove the settings you have
set up ie: tv settings /time/language/chn list and sat settings
and wont return the box to how it came from the box new.
for a clean start if you have problems is to flash a new image
but why bother if everything is working properly,

Hi

It was all working fine until I started downloading sat bouquets in my blue menu. Now it says tuner not found I have tried to retune but no luck. I am using disc when I try to set up lnb says 33 and won***8217;t change so if i carry on doing the rest and then try sat finder it shown the strength bar 100 an the crashes the box. Then there screen goes green ad gives you 4 options to or not report the problem to www.dreambox

Hope i have explaned wel enough.I have given up for now my Dm is packed away in its box wichs make me very sad and had to go back to my spider which in never though i would.Just carnt get my head round Dm very lost

the dreambox was never meant to be just a plug and play receiver, and at times a long learning curve, sat tv is, in many ways a hobby.
its a great pity that you have had to give up.
because all the information is on the forum to get you going

I have been in a similar situation, for a box that is marketed as infinitaly adjustable mine is like an old person..doesnt like change. It will run stable on nabilo bh but I know as soon as I try to add plugins/addons, skins etc it will crash. It wont even boot any other image. I realise that its not a plug and play device and I've learned a lot in the eleven months I've owned it. So marcus I can empathise, if not for DreamUp mine would've been out the window long ago, what might help us both is to understand why they crash so easily, the reason be it lack of memory, wrong bootloader whatever, not just 'user error' ?
