streaming to the web

Help, can anyone help me im trying to stream over the web, I can get a nice picture from my lan but not over the web.

quick steps that works for me on dm800

* Using web interface get channel i want to stream
* open file in text view to get the url
* Using vlc i stream specifying pc ip address and port
* Select encoding and sound
* Need to make sure port number is open on any firewall.

Hopefuly this should help but would help if you provide mor info on your setup.
