    3d tv is dreambox capable?

Is there a plugin that will give a 3d content signal to a 3d tv.
I ask because i have a 3dtv and when watching a 3dtv (SBS) program on my dm800se my tv thinks its 2d and then only gives me the option to change 2d>3d and doesnt highlight SBS mode.
My TV is a LG and is superb showing 3dtv content via my LG bluray player and any 3d films on external hard drive connected to my bluray player (i can set different 3d modes as well).
Or is it dm800se is not capable?

first of all its the tv that gives you 3d ,are you using your own card? if so do you have to phone sly up to get it enabled if your doing something else then they have to get 3d enabled all hd boxs are cable of 3d but as i said its the tv that does it

Yes Father Ted i know its the tv, but if the electronic device ie dreambox does not give the signal some tv's donot know its a 3d content programme and as such as mine does, only allows you to change any 2d into 3d (which is not what i want to do as its an SBS content programme and doesnt allow me to change that). I have multi 3d type mode selection on my TV

I know how everything works because i have tried all types of 3d content with my bluray player + external hard drive and it plays all and i can change mode as well, this makes me believe the dreambox doesnt tell the 3dtv which mode the picture is in even though i can see it in 3d but shotgun mode.

So i ask again, is there a plugin of any sorts that will tell my tv which mode the 3d content is in? or has anyone done the same thing.

My 3d stream is mine if you know what i mean.

Owen as father Ted says, on the dreambox that's how the feed is transmitted (SBS) as you put it. It is your tv software that does the rest. I dont have any trouble with mine, if you dont turn the tv to 3D mode you will just get the two feeds along side one another.

Hi, I turn the the tv onto 3d mode but i still get SBS but then i have 6 modes but greyed out so cant select them, only 2d > 3d which i can do on any channel and have a suedo type 3d.

                Must be the TV then

By the way whats your setup?

i have to press the source/av button and go to another hdmi source and then revert back to hdmi 1(dm800) and i can choose the previously greyed out options

Thanks for that, will give it a go when i get back tomorrow from UAE (work).

would be such a pity if tv doesnt work with dreambox as it works with all other types of 3D material through my LG bluray player even 3D films of my ext hard drive via bluray player. SBS,top/bottom, shutter and anaglyph plays all. LG

Ive had 2 different 3d TV's, apart from the PS3 that automatically switches the TV into 3D mode Ive always had to change it to 3D via the remote, its no big deal.

The fact that your TV thinks its not a 3D broadcast is a problem with your TV pal, not the dreambox.

Hmm, Im no expert on cables - but is it not a HDMI cable issue? If your using a really old cable it could be that, I remember reading a bit ago you needed a 1.3 cable for 3D stuff.. but that was all PS3 related talk. Have a read up..

Thanks for that, I suppose it could be the cable tho I bought the cable off ebay and it said 3D compatible but i guess you never know what your getting (was cheap ).

The remote changes the mode of 3D but if the tv doesnt recognise the signal all modes grayed out except the one to convert 2D into 3D. As I said before tv recognises all my othe 3D stuff just not dreambox, the more i think of it now!!!! points to being cable then I guess if you all can watch 3D on your dreamboxs.

Just tried a "3D" cable but still the same, if i plug in sky box 3D is Ok so dont know whats going on, anyone with a dm800se and 3D tv having the same issues? LG 3D tv's are on sky's compatible list, not as if it was a cheap tv at that.
