    New to Satellite and Dreambox

Hi guys, I basically know nothing so be patient please *

I'm looking to get a dreambox, but don't know what to get, where to get it etc or what I need to make it work.*
I'm I correct in thinking I need a satellite dish set up, then I need to programme the box somehow to watch tv?

    Cheers for your help guys.

Regards, from a complete noob, John

Ps I'm so much of a noob, I've already posted one like this in the wrong thread..

The diffrence is a few things really, only thing in common is they run via Internet, starview you have to pay a sub now ?25 6 months ?45 12 mths just like sky you have to pay a sub
"subscription" also depends who ur subs with depends on prices, I paid a ?100 for the year but I now no u can get for ?60, learning by mistakes.
But sat u can get in HD
        Hope this helps bud

and dreamboxes are not for the faint hearted to set up,more skills needed,so if its your first box ask many questions first before it gets bought.plenty to help out here if in trouble.

Depending on the box you choose, there are tutorials available here. If it's a 500 or 600 look here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...dreamup-42950/ If it's an 800 look in here ENIGMA2 Chat

              THE TRUTH
              The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Cheers, I'm still undecided on which box to get at the minute. Am I right in thinking 500 is standard def, 600 is a recorder and 800 HD?
Also how many feeds would I need from the satellite, or should I get as many as possible in case I get more boxes.

                Cheers, John

one feed is enough per satellite
but you could run 2 or 3 different sats into one box
                  like this

then run all the cables into something like this

the run one single cable to your box from the out connection

Daithi... I'm a learner in this sport how this work.. more than 1 satallite to the 1 box, I thought the extra connections on the lnb was just to connect up into separate rooms
And I thought it would have to be motorised to get other than 1
Siz if I sound dumb.. Like cactikid says its not for the faint hearted ha

the box is the hard part connecting a few different sats and doing a scan is easy enough
that picture of the satellite i showed can have 4 different lnbs on it all pointing at four different satellites but only one dish
then you run a cable from each one into that splitter i pictured
                          lnb1 lnb2 lnb3 lnb4
then run one cable from the out to your box
and in your dreambox you just scan those 4 satellites by simply selecting them in the settings

you can also use a motor to if ya wish but this is easier in my opinion

it all seems hard but once you get that box in your hand and read a few tuts on here yal be done in no time

have a read here mate some good info http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...x-500s-184669/

so you can only recieve satallites that our close to 28.2 or did u mean move dish by hand, if no motor is fitted.

no the dish stays in the one place the satellites are close to each other
a motorised dish wouldnt have far to move
heres a member on heres setup
