DM500 Some questions from newbie

Hi i have been looking through this forum for few days now and learnt thow to do most things but just have a few questions that need answering. Here we go

1. What is the difference between a dreambox with PVR and a dreambox without PVR?? (does PVR allow external recording?)

2. Is there anyway to record on a dm500 and dm800hd? Also can i use a compatible wireless adapter instead of hooking dreambox up using ethernet cable?

3. Can i use Putty and telnet settings over to dm500 + dm800 instead of using a null modem cable?

3: yes you can use putty or winscp but ~~~~ knows y u would dcc is yer best bet

thanks for the quick response. Yes i thoght i once seen some wireless adapters for dreambox's so ppl can wireless connect across room (cheaper alternative to homeplugs) if it works?

Also i was under the impression that you could somehow record to usb hard drive live using dreambox??

My bad just read the wiki and realized only a pvr dreambox will allow external usb recording so disregard that.
