Updating to newer versions of Oscam

I had oscam build 4600 with cccam 2.1.3 on my dm500 and everything worked fine. I wanted to get the latest version of oscam so i downloaded, telnet'd, and restarted cardserver with my new version of oscam.

problem was, that it didnt clear my premiums, even though BOXID was in the configs.

Do i have to create new configs for my new version of oscam or can i just use the exiting ones?

And ...apart from taking up var memory, is there anything wrong with leavin the old oscam binary file on the box?

    any help would be appreciated.

    cheers

If it aint broke dont fix. Just because its a newer version doesn't mean its going to be any better for you.
