Realy need some help on motorised setup

Hi again, well yet again i need some help.this time i have a problem getting all sats with vhannibal 75e-45w. i am using a visiosat 90cm dish and an inverto high gain lnb and tm2600 super motor. my dreambox is an 800hd and i am using usuals to tune my satellites in as i have found this easier to set up. i am totally plumb on the wall brackets and everything is lined up as it should be,believe me i have been at this for two weeks now and this is why i am asking advise or opinions.well from what i can tell is that i am getting 28.2e and 30w at 100% either way with sats being picked up in between.problem is below 10degrees either way where i am getting nowt or limited to very few per sat. i have adjusted and re aligned that many times that there is no difference and my max amount of channels is 6630 so i do not know if i should be getting more. i am from tyne and wear and on dishpointer my lat is 54.9663? and long -1.5066? so on my dreambox i put 054.966 and 001.506 which i hope is correct?. if this is correct then is there a problem with using usuals? what can i do now? some help would go a long way please. Also forgot to mention that i am using a horizon hdsm usb satellite meter with new software update. 0.8w is really weak and only get very few channels. They recon this is for hobbyists but does that mean single divorced hobbyists as this is where it is going im afraid.

You probably already know but remember that -1.5066 is 1.5066 West.

Not sure how Dreambox enters them but I would use 1.506 West on my ITGate.

Failing that it could be your elevation is set too high or too low and that would also explain why you get 28.2 and 30 but nothing else. I take it you set the dish up using 28.2 ?

With 28.2 being a strong signal you can still pick it up at a higher or lower elevation.

When I first set my dish up I had the wrong elevation and I was only picking up a few sats in the arc.

Hi deeboi, this could be a factor as i did set up on 28.2e and my lat and long are what you have described. what i could do with knowing is which sat to tune in on first as 0.8w is really hard to lock onto. if you do not mind me asking, how did you get there in the end cos i have all the gear and no idea!...appreciate all the help from you guys.

I used BBC World News on 1w as my ref as it's the satellite at the top of the arc and once you get that and all your angles are correct all the other sats fall into place.

My problem at the time was I didn't pay attention to what was written on the motor elevation bracket.

In my motor manual I was reading to set it up the diagram shows Elevation when in fact the actual bracket showed Latitude (If I remember correctly) so when I set up my dish I couldn't get a signal whatsoever because I had set it to 34 degrees Elevation instead of 56 degrees Latitude that the bracket was measured in, my stupid fault.

Anyway if it was me in your situation and I'm by no means an expert I've only set up my own dish I would probably try sending the dish to BBC World News on 1w then try adjusting the Dish Elevation up and down to see if you pick it up, once you get the strongest signal on that satellite the others should follow (providing all the other angles are correct)

Hi deeboi, your advise sounds good and i will venture away from the missus once again in the morning to try this out. i have read different ways of setting up and none are easy as a first timer so trial and error has been my motto. hope this works well cos it seems everything you have said falls in my category. if not, i will go down my allotment and dig a big hole ready for her giving me greif when im out in the dark bending the dish rather than her. cheers bud
