Can anyone help with some Dreambox advice please?

Hi,

I have been using freeview & freesat through my HTPC using media portal software for a while now & have been reading that it is possible to get media portal to receive the channels from a Dreambox via the network. Well being an F1 Nut I am soo close to filling Murdoch's pockets to subscribe to Sky but would prefer to use a dreambox so I can see all the channels in one place rather than switching the TV (and sound as I use an AMP) every time. So my question is really 2 Fold Can I buy a Sky Card only? (can only find suppliers for abroad for this) and what is the best dreambox for this purpose? I have found the DM800HD on dreamboxsales.co.uk for ?136.99 is that good?

I really would appreciate any advice as F1 starts next weekend!

Unless F1 is free you are going to need a subscribed card so bite the bullet and take out a subscription - if you dont need the sky box then dont use it, though some people have to replace there card in original box to update there entitlements from time to time (but that can be over come with the correct setup). Sometimes not good just to pick the cheapest box, you want to get box off supplier that someone recommends but that is your choice.
