    flash erase ?

    My image is in the flash, not where I want it. It takes 98% of the root which means it is very unstable.
    1. what should I use to erase the flash?
    2. which method (easiest) should I use to load image in 'temp' where it can then be transfered to the cf card?

        If using flash erase in dream up are you not just erasing the previous image while installing a new image ? which means you would be back to square one ?

          erase the image?

          I want to put the image in a different place, not just overwrite, hence erase would be a good option?

            If the elusive dreamUp with flash erase cant be found is there another tool that would do a similar job on an e2 box.

            edit. read you post again shankhill: you are saying it only gives the option of erase while flashing the new image in the same place? So I do need a different tool.

            update:
            Should you ever need to flash erase your Dreambox from the command prompt:

            Telnet into your Dreambox
            If you have a DM500, DM56xx or DM7000***8230;.issue the following command:
            eraseall /dev/mtd/1 && rebootIf you have a DM600-PVR, DM500+ or DM7020***8230;issue the following command:
            rm -R /etc/enigma && killall -9 enigma ..or

            Press the up and down buttons on the Dreambox when the boot logo is on screen. A "Flash eraYou can do this very simply without the aid of any software.
            se" message will appear on the LCD, then the Dreambox will reboot. If your Dreambox should freeze during the process, press the 3 buttons on it to reset the device, or just remove the power cable. 'billnot'

            I believe Flash Wizard can flash erase also.

              I may be wrong but I thought you HAD to have an image in flash even when using Multiboot.
