    how easy is it to?

hi everyone, this is my first post on the forum, after finding out today that i pay ?28.00 a month for basic virgin telly i'm going down the motorised dish and dreambox route, firstly is is easy to do?i can e-mail and add new posts to a forum but techy wise thats as far as i go!i'm good at diy though.
i live near leeds and looking for a small dish (anyone reccomend the correct size of dish)and a dreambox as they are quite cheap, all would be sourced from fleabay unless there is a better supplier you could reccomend are they easy to update?ie with gifts etc
what kinda dreambox would fit my purpose as i'd like to go the hd route-kevin

Alright mate! My advice, read read and read some more on here before you jump in. It will all click into place and then you will get the basics. I suggest you buy a DM800HD pal, this will give you all the HD stuff you need, and can also run a motorised dish. Prob pay 100quid for the box, and 100quid for the motorised dish. Id pick up the dish from ebay, and the box from a supplier in China. Get the dish fitted (prob another 100quid) and you are ready to get started on the basics!

    Good luck!

        how easy is to?

thanks for the replies so far, advice taken on board so far,can put me own dish up and connect it-but beyond that i'd be stuck a bit,if i get a box from china and get it all connected where do i go from there?(i'm sure its been posted time and time and time again)do i have to pay for "upgrades"or are they "available locally"?i'm reading more on the forum but tbh it means not a lot at the moment unless i learn about lnb's etc-is there a book about this?i am ordering 80cm dish tommorrow-is that right size for my area?this might make you all laugh/or pity me but i used to do this kinda work!!!ex royal corps of signals 20 years ago when sat was just being introduced to us,at that time it was just line of sight and maybe a couple of km's away dead easy just rx and tx frequencies to input(amongst other things)with regards to the box any good suppliers?many thanks kevin

I found the Dreambox DM800 HD SE and DM500HD where i live in Holland, but it cost too much: 429 and 320 euro
          are these the normal prices?!

          Thanx

You could always buy a clone dreambox which is significantly cheaper and will do the same job , 800hd SE for around ?150 delivered from china, have a scan around the forum for recommended sellers. The prices you were gave are for original boxes.

Nothing you can't do with a little help from DK

                  THE TRUTH
                  The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
