    Can you Recemend a satellite box???

    Around Thursday or Friday of this week i plan to buy a VU+DUO all in it will set me back ?357.00 . Can (before i take the plunge ) any of you guys recommend me a box that is less expensive and just as or good or reliable if not better. Many of you seem to be going for the dream box would you change it if you could? Or am i wise in my choice . I value the opinion of you guys and maybe you can help me finally make up my mind. I have heard the question saying it depends what i want. So guys tell me what exactly is on offer through having one of these units, what are its possibilities.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR REPLIES.

    The first question to ask, is what do you want to get out of the box, do you plan to use the extra features of the duo?

    If you got a dreambox anyway you would probably upgrade to a duo in time. The new versions have been announced and are due for release later on in the year so you should see the prices of the vu '1's start to drop

        again depends on what you want!!!
        youve probably read a few things already, twin tuner etc.
        i was always a dm fan, til i got my duo, best box ive had up to now.
        starting to get lots of images and support for them as well.
        ive a clone, and despite all that i have read about clones, mine has been trouble free.

        i agree with BAN 32, there is a newer version coming out, look great, so the mk1's should start to fall.
        even if you do decide to go for one, im sure you would get a genuine one cheaper than the price that you have said.

          Do you need a twin tuner is probably the biggest question to ask if not go for a solo or an uno my tuppence worth.

            ~~~~ it prices are tumbling on the vu duo as clones are entering the market any one that has a box hold off a bit reason =
            vu+ duo or comparable box was 500 with 500 gig hd installed now 350 without hdd is 300 thats yo yo's
            by the end of the year you will be able to purchase a vu+duo at 200e {clone}
            so if you buying now get a 500s to tide u over
                At that price it must be a clone, a lot of people on the forum including myself have clone sat boxes and they do the job , although I haven't used dhgate for my clones so I wouldn't know about the quality or reliability of their boxes.
                  I just found vu+duo and ultimo with a fairly interesting price drop, with one exception they don't or won't come with hdd pre installed nor can i get vix installed, as they offer on world of satellite. Would these to things be easy to install ? is it common sense or would a bit of savvy be required.That said help for the daft is available here if needs be.
                        There is a full section on vu in the satellite section at the bottom ,have a look in there for the answers about image, hard drive and so on.
                          question to ask yourself if you buy a clone,is it worth it and if a problem happens how much more will you be out of pocket.
