I have a DM800se clone and fitted a disk so it can record, I noticed there really is a Sim in there - whats its function? It seems not to be readily removable.
The sim is the security device used by DMM to protect the original image software. Different sims denote different clone teams/manufacturers e.g 2.10,Ferrari, estar etc.
The protection is usually in the bootloader which needs to be cracked and then the image is patched to bypass the protection.
