Problems updating from SIM1 to SIM 2.10

    Hello,
I was hoping someone would be able to help me? I'm stuck trying to update my image on my DM800 clone.

Box was purchased with a SIM1 in, I have recently just purchased a new SIM 2.10 and put it in to my box. I was told it will work but that I had to update the image and bootloader.

I have downloaded the SSL84b and flashed the box, and then tried to put and image on but all i get is ERROR.

I have then tried to flash the box with an image that has the BL84 preinstalled...RamiMaher?

Neither work. Just now I have just flashed the bootloader again, and tried to flash the openpli image but it appears to start the uploading process and just cuts out and I get page cannot be displayed. Can anyone help please?

    Thanks for your time.

You could try dreamup and null nodem cable if you cant flash with web browser.

Thanks Andy. I should have said I've been having a lot of problems.

With dreamup im getting No CA found by 2nd stage loader, please contact dream multimedia.

So I use Dreambox Optiflasher to load image, which I can then get an IP address. I can use the web browser or application to write image/restore backup. I thought the ramiMaher image had BL84 within it so it upgraded both. This is the image I am trying:

      Dream-Elite-3-0-dm800-Ver-010r4-ramiMAHER

Additionally if I try and try and flash and OpenPli image it gets to 92% and gives up.

I reboot but box just gets ERROR.

So i can either use dreamup or the webbrower. Webbrowser times out, Dreamup gives file to big error.

      Please help

Could anyone post an image with a BL84 in it for a SIM 2.10.

I don't know what to try now and ive basically got a box that can't do anything anymore.

        Have a look here

I would try lots of other images with different bootloaders and see if it will take a flash.

Thank you but I just cant seem to get anywhere. Tried different images already and getting error.

Has no one ever upgraded from SIM1 to SIM 2.10 without any problems? I thought it was a case of.

          1) Open box, take out SIM 1 and replace with SIM 2.10
          2) Put box into flash mode
          3) Flash image with bootloader 84. Or SSL 84 and then Image.
          4) Reboot
          5) Image loads.

I am reading but getting no where with images. My box turns on and just sees ERROR.

For the fike too big error try using enforcer with null and ethernet cable flashing over network.
            Think enforcer is in downloads.

Find an image with bootloader 69 and work your way up.

I will try that now. I don't understand what I am doing wrong?

Why am I getting error if I have put a SIM 2.10 in the box and flashed with SSL84 and I have tried flashing it with the RamiMaher with built in 84. Grrrr so frustrating. I can't see whats wrong!!!

What you get with open source linux box, they not plug and play.
Big learning curve with these boxes.
You get great satisfaction when you sort it.
Try with desktop pc and windows xp if you can.

Thats half the problem if you want to flash on a lappy.
Great with web browser crap with adapter.
Try 69 bootloader you have nothing to lose.

This has been copied off another forum not my work.

open dreamup that comes with this in the different method folder and click on connect then insert the power cable on the dreambox, make sure you tick use network, then drag the enforcer on top of the dreamup software thats open on your desktop and then click on enable, then the flash button on dreamup should come into action, click on flash locate the image and let it flash.

if that does not work insert null nodem cable go through the same procedure but after you click on connect look at the led screen when you insert the power cable and it will say serial mode or something like that and you will see an ip on the led screen, put that ip into your url and flash it the normal way through your web browser .

                          Thanks Andy again

I can use the browser to flash and can see a STOP message.

                          This is my problem.

I have a SIM 2.10 in the box
I can flash SSL84b, reboot and get an error
Flash an image with SSL84b as well and get an error

Just flashed with BL69, turn it back on and I get ERROR.

Why is this happening?! I know its a good learning curve but at the moment I have upgraded my SIM from 1 to 2.10 and now nothing works.

                          Great

Are you flashing image on its own or bootloader first?

I have tried both methods. I was told to to flash the image first then the bootloader. But then i have read to do it the other way too.

I have put my SIM1 back in the box, loaded SSL69 and guess what...
