    NO SERVICES FOUND! ****ING ANNOYED

    Hello guys please help
So in a previous thread I seeked help around getting 3g router working with dm500s for up at my caravan, thanks to support I gotta it all set up and working at home and tonight I went to the van to see if it would work. The dm500s which i got used off fleabay has a Gemini image on which works perfectly fine as i set it all up on my tv at home and was watching sly sports as if it was my much loved dm800hdse (without the hd). So off i go, now spent the first hour feeding coax cable into tiny hole underneath the van, once sorted i assumed that once id connect it to the box it would be a case of finding/pointing the dish in the 28.2e direction like all the other sly dishes at the site. So without using a meter or app/compass i aligned the dish pointing in the same direction as the other dishes and connected up at both ends - I turned on the dm500s and everything loaded inc cccam, now at this point because id already at home disconnected my dm800 and in place plugged in the dm500s which worked fine I assumed id be seeing the 28.2e channels, but all i got was service could not be found on FTA & premium. I then went into my Menu to check Sat finder and i was getting readings of SNR 63% (which remained static always) AGC 93%-88% (fluctuates) BER 0%. My first thought was that the dish must be aligned correctly cos these stats look familiar so I tried manual transponder search = 0 results i tried an auto scan = no transponder. At this point me an the father in law reached for Paul Wellers (Stella) 4 cans later ive got him outside moving the dish and im on the remote scanning like a crazed & pissed mad man. Nothing - I dont know what im doing wrong. I noticed that on the manual transponder searh page both lock and sync were unticked. It got pitch black and i came home so im sat here racking my brains. What i dont understand is having disconnected my dm800 at home and plugging in my dm500s it worked straight away granted my dish is correctly pointed. Im wondering whther the dish itself which is a big **** off Ross Sat dish is ****ed, or is it something i need to do on the box like changing/edit transoponder settings.

if anyone can help me please do so - im going back tommorow night for round 2 and If I dont suss it I could be staying there all week until i do.

haha fair play it is a tad shambolic of me

basically took a dish and dm500s to my caravan and attempted to install/set up - couldnt get no services found, attempted scans but couldnt find transponder. The dish was pointed in the same direction as the fellas next door (Astra 2A 28,2E)

      ANY IDEAS

it needs to be exact. not in the nearest direction.

So am i best to use an android Sat Finder app or buy a meter of fleabay? also is it ok to adjust whislt a FTA channel is on - my thinking is if i do align corret the channel will come on. Also whats the crack with the stats i mentioned SNR 63% ACG 93% BER 0% how come with these readings i was getting no transponders found

If you took an E2 box to the caravan then you could use Enigma signal finder for android and iphone works by locking into box via router and taking over the AGC and SNR level info very handy for aligning a dish, not too sure if it works on E1 machines though as i never tried it.

Back in the day I upgraded my BSB square dish to the astra 19.2 sky analog, I installed the dish and pointed it in the direction of the blokes down the street but at no point could i get a signal, I spent all day messing with it, the Mrs was pissed off, So i go down the road to speak to the only other bloke with sky in my street and ask him who installed his dish , he says "ahh i tried it myself but cant align it , its not even pointing in the right direction" .... WhaT A NUMPTY
