    New to sat

Hi guys. Im new to sat and being forced into it due to moving. I had cable on a Starview which I flashed no prob. I have posted in general forum regarding achieving the same results on sat. I was informed that google and card sharing are my friends. Thing is I just read the tutorial for setting up new Dreambox. Why would I do that. What would that achieve without the card share thing? Im just looking for some advice on what to research and learn. I dont mind spending hours/days searching learning. Just want pointing in the right direction as what to look into.

Cardsharing is a topic that is not allowed to be discussed here..

It is a process where users are linked via a coded line that enables them to share official cards from friends who have the cards in their boxes..

If you use just just an EMU with Keys then you will open very little..

It sounds like you will be trying to obtain Sky UK, if this is the case, then i'm afraid an official subscription is the only way, as Sky's encryption makes cardsharing not a viable option to make it your primary viewing platform.

Most European broadcasters have encryption that is more allowing..

Im afraid that the description above is the only one that is allowed here. No information can be given on the 'how' or 'where'

If you google cardsharing you will find plenty of area's that allow open discussion...

Thanks for the reply it has helped.

It does make wonder if it is not possible etc why do you guys spend so much time, effort and esp money on your hobby?

What I mean to say is if I went out spent loads of cash what would I get for my money? Other than using c/s but maybe other adaptations ive read about so far. I have read you would still get more channels than Cable. Is that correct, mostly English speaking?

Thanks in advance for any advice

you will get a lot of channels.. thousands more than cable..

Very little are english language outside of the Sky broadcasts on 28E..

For example, if you had a Dreambox and a motorised satellite dish you could get all the Freesat channels on 28E and then if you ran the right EMU and Keys you could unlock the Canal Digital network on 0.8W..

This would give you all the football sky & setatnta show + saturday 3pm Kick Off's..

        Im confussed by your quote..

By the ammount of web traffic and sites given over to the Dreambox its pretty obvious everything is possible with the Dreambox..

You just have to know where to look.. Every major package accross Europe is open on my receiver (many that broadast in dual audio = English).. and clears instantly with no freezing or stuttering.. but like many others i know where to get the files needed..

The reason many will tell you that if you just want Sky UK then get an official subscription is because EVERYONE wants Sky for free.. only those that have something worth swapping will get it... i.e. another major package from a leading European country

Many thanks ops monkey. Im beginning to get it now. Its more like card or access trading then. I just couldnt understand why people would devote such resources to such a complicated and commited subject and watch spanish tv!!!!

I have been looking around and can see how much there is to learn. I just needed to know it would be worth much studying and then financial outgoings to make it acceptable. It is quite different to buying a box and running a file!!!!

Thanks for your help and when im ready I hope your still hear to help me buy my gear!!! Top man.

no probs mate.. have a good look around the internet.. there are places where you will find all your answers

Such content can result in a site being shut down, which is, quite rightly, why the Admins here have issued a 'no cardshare discussion' rule
