    saving transponder scan

    hiya

ive just done a scan on 28.2E and its found all the channels however when i went to powered the device off and back on again it had lost off the list and basically started from scratch again. Is there a way to save the info

do i need to do a reboot from within the settings to save the new information?

the settings should automaticly be saved in the memory m8, rescan then restart using the remote, if they disappear again i'd reflash the image and start over, and they they still disappear after a reflash then you'll have to conclude that your box is faulty m8

        Hi m8.

I would start by installing dreambox edit, where you can backup all your settings and ftp then back immediately, so you do not have to do all the work from the beginning. It has the added bonus of easily editing channel types etc.

Better do the first reboot from the remote "properly" and not from the mains.

Also new here, but this is from what I have understood so far.

you have to remember that the Dreambox or Linux box is in essence a mini computer.. if you just unplug / replug it from the mains you arent shutting it down properly.. your pc doesnt like it and neither does your DB.. reboot via the remote control and settings menu..

if it keeps loosing your channels reflash.. then rescan.. if it happens again as Krazy says your box is duff..
