Newbie looking for a Dreambox - which one??

Thanks, but is there no way of using the EPG that's already installed on the box? I don't want to be making too many changes to the box.

Also any idea's on the other points raised?

Best thing I can tell you is install the likes of Ts Panel and Ts Media there's loads of different plugins on there for epg recording etc Only way to learn is install and have a play till you find whaat you want. Best thing about Linux and these boxes is the versatility but you will get green screen crashes its the nature of the beast, Andy.

Yeah i have TsPanel installed but i was wondering whether i can install plug ins from any on the list of servers or whether i can only install from the one that is applicable for my box (sorry,i've read something about the different sim types and not sure whether the list of servers is applicable to certain sims only)?

I've added screenshots of what i currently have.

Not wanting to play about with it too much until i have some background knowledge as the OSD has already stopped coming up when i press the 'OK' button so don't want to mess anything else up.

If you go into your menu/setup/system/customize you probably can sort out your problem there. Ive not got a SE just a 800hd but I'm guessing they are similar, Andy.

Regarding Ts panel most is common sense. It caters for lots of different images etc Andy.

Okay, I have a small problem with the box.

for some reason the box thinks I'm recording even when I'm not and as a result won't let me change channel or I get a "no tuner available" message.

ive tried restaring enigma, and also shutting it down completely and nothing seems to be fixing it

Managed to solve the issue with the box so posting my finding in case anyone else has a similar issue.
The recording issue seemed to have been caused by me clicking on the instant record by mistake on the web interface for my box. This was solved by simply disconnecting my ethernet connection for a few mins until the channels dropped out and then re-connecting it. At that point all the channels had returned and the ghost recording that couldn't be stopped had also been cleared.

The second issue i was having with the OSD not working when clicking the 'OK' button seems to have been caused by a skin i downloaded. Once i removed that skin plugin my box is working perfectly again.

Still struggling to get the EPG to show more than just the now and next on the current channel though.

Bought a dm800 se (clone).

bought the box from an online advertisement (not sure if I'm allowed to give direct details on here).
