    How to connect to dreambox after erasing everything..?:S

    Hey guys,

    I just used the following command to flash my dreambox but accidently I forgot to upload backup.img in the /tmp folder:

    cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

    What can I do now ? I tried rebooting it but the box is inaccessible :\

    any ideas?

    Thank you

              I used to upload the images through FTP and then used telnet to flash it... never used a null modem to do this procedure. Isn't this way efficient?

              By the way can you provide me of a screenshot of a null modem, in order to try to buy one?

              Thank you

                      Tried that method but the green light at the front is always solid... (and when I check in the router's settings there's no ip assigned to the dbox..)

                      so i suppose the null modem cable is what's left to do ;\

                        Hi again guys. Ok, I got the null modem cable and a USB to RS232 cable (as my laptop has not RS232 input). I installed the usb drivers of the cable, connected the one end of the null modem cable to the converter and the other end to the dreambox. I connect dreamup on the correct com port (found via the device manager) and then plug the electricity cable in the adreambox but nothing happens on dreamup. The status remains "Connectin established....." :\

                        What is wrong now ?:\

                            Thats what I did mate :\

                            Connected the one end of the null modem cable to the USB converter, and then to the pc. Then the other end to the DBOX.

                            Ran Dreamup, chose the correct com port and pressed "Connect".

                            Then I plugged in the electricity cable on the dreambox, it turns on. I waited around 5 minutes but Dreamup's status remains to "Connection prepared...." .. It does not change to "Box attached" :\

                            Any ideas why this is happening?

                            Thank you
