    Dreambox with Maxview Dish

Hi all, here's one that's not been covered before I believe...

I have a Maxview MXL 002 motorised satellite dish (cost ?1000) in my motorhome. The receiver that comes with the dish has shot itself so I'm now trying to use my DM800SE in its place. The dish is a single LNB.

Can anyone tell me how I go about setting up the box so it can control the dish? Am I right in thinking that the dreambox will power the satellite through the Sat cable as per the maxview receiver did...?

    Thanks in advance

    Mike

Not 100% sure on this but dont the Maxview Motorised systems have a separate positioner to move the satellite around the ARC or was this function built into the Maxview 002 receiver.

I think this needs clarifying before you put your DM800se into it.

Thanks, Soooo how do I find out what has the positioner -dish or receiver, and what would be the effect of using the dreambox in its place? Just a case of not been able to communicate with the dish? What would be the process to try and see if the dream box has the capability of moving the dish?

The DM800se has the power to drive a Diseqc Motor either in Diseqc 1.2 mode or USALS mode, Normally requires around 500ma with powering the LNB also.

I tried to find a little more info on your system from the maxview website but the model number you refer to is just for the receiver itself, The Dishes they had either had a separate positioner or built into the receiver.

You need to find out the model of your dish what type of motor it uses and if the 800se can power it and or does it require a separate positioner for the dish itself

              Hi Mike,

Thanks for the Information but it is still a little vague on what controls your dish have a look at the maxview site as some of the motorised dishes have a separate positioner and this is what you need to know if not can the 800se control the dish:

According to that information the 002 model is a 45cm fixed dish dome type
