    Sky Subscription with Dreambox.

Hi guys, I need some advice on if something would work, i've spent a couple of hours googling today with no clear answer. I have a property abroad what I would to do is purchase a multi-room subscription and use it in the property abroad. I would like to do this via a dreambox and leave the official sky box at my main house here in the UK plugged into the phone line. will the ring back still work on the box with no card in it? (because the card would be in the dreambox). Thank You.

No, it would not be possible as the multi-room requires to be in the same building as the subscription, it also requires an offical Sky box. Sky's terms state it must be connected to the phone line at all times as they do a routine ring back and if the box does not respond Sky will contact you, if you do not connect it to the phone line Sky will charge you the full price of your current subscription. I think it would be possible though after the year contact to remove the main card and use that in a Dreambox as the main box only requires to be connected to the phone line for the duration of the contract.

Actually these days if you have Multiroom both receivers need to be connected to a phone line 24/7 even after the year long contract, My advice to the OP would be forget about multiroom and take your single card to your holiday home.

Could you have them connected to the same sky BB connection. Would they allow that ?

I'm thinking down the lines on a VPN connection.

this is not correct my multiroom has never been connected to a phone line whether in or out of contract.
in fact none of my boxes are connected to phone line and just this week ordered a new 2tb box for another room sky installed it without connecting to p
                hone line.

And how long have you had the Subscription is the point as you maybe one of the lucky ones who gets away with it, But i can say i doubt if a new subscriber who ordered a new multiroom package now that it will have to be connected for the 12 month term and however long past that term you subscribe for.
