Dreambox 800 problems or maybe pilot error

I have 2 dreambox 800(genuine and Clone) and its been several yaers since I set them up and the little knowledge I had then appears to have evaporated. The first problem I have is that I cannot connect with DreamUP as I was looking at updating the image on the genuine one as it keeps freezing but I keep getting an error message"Cant find any com port".Is this a computer issue with Vista and windows 7? The Image on this unit is Nobilosat Black Hole V.O.11 from 2009. I am sure there is something better available.Suggestions.
All these changes have been prompted as the clone has suddenly started giving a "no signal" half way thru bootup. Is this likely to be a tuner problem.I am certain there is no signal or power issues.
    THanks in advance.

Its been at least 2 or 3 years since I was last here and one thing has certainly changed in that you would not have to wait several days for a reply.

In the 2-3 years since your last visit questions like these have more than likely been answered therefore using the forum search facility will probably bring up a thread that has already dealt with your question.

As for images then there are plenty in the download section: Images - Downloads - Digital Kaos

      How to Flash a DM800: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-dm800-122157/

Although Flashing the Receiver while it still has an image onboard really should be done over network and using IE browser, Null modem is generally used for Bricked/No CA Error

Thanks for reply.I have used the search function and didn't find anyone here with a similar problem to my clone, However google did turn something up on another site and it seems to be hardware related. Alas another clone as a doorstop.

Still trying to figure out windows 7/vista Dreamup port problem.
