Info needed for prospective purchase

Hi I used to be a skybox owner but it died so was looking at the dreambox 800 as an alternative, but is it REALY worth purchasing, I've read a few things that certain large companies are eventually getting on top of things (HD not available any more etc) I used my skybox for one unmentionable reason and would probably want the dreambox for the same, any help advise would be much appreciated. By all means inbox me with any advice, I would like to be set up and running in time for christmas

get yourself a cheap motorised dish and you will have a wealth of programming for free including footy,movies ect ect. triax td88, darkmotor,ibu lnb and something like a technomate f3/5 can be got and installed for ?400. or you can install it yourself and save ?150. you will wonder how you stuck with sly so long. regards mdt

Well most of that went over my head , I don't think a motorised dish is the answer, I have a few problems with where it would fit and I'm also a tennant with a not so understanding landlord. But thank you for your advise

Cracking box is a dm800 in my opinion, you can change tuners from sat to cable, loads of images, plugins and support, miles better box than skybox, only way you'll have hd back is with a cable box or you could do as mdt says and try using more than one sat as plenty of hd channels on alternative satellites, if your not fussed on hd I'd recommend a dm500 box with commando image on, around ?30-?40 on eBay and with commando image on are brilliant, full epg but no HD though.
