Dreambox 500s help

hi. I have bought a dreambox 500s but im having trouble with it.Theres an image on it but I cant get a cccam line working on it.Is this because I have no cam on the box or what.Im new to this so i dont know if my wording of this problem is correct.Also I have been trying to put an openpli image on it but it breaks down at 84%.Why is this? Im using flashwizard pro to flash the box. Can some genius out there tell me whats wrong. Thanks.

Depending on the image that you have installed, you should be able to download a cam from the software management menu. Chances are that it is a Gemini image that is installed on it and if it is then they no longer support the download of cams so you would need to flash a new image onto the box like pli.

Thanks...Like I said before the pli image wont go any further than 84%.Which pli image would you recommend using?

Sorry I was just advising. Any pli image, check out their site and download the latest nightly build.

Are you using a nulled cable to flash with?

No I was just hoping to do it without one. What do you think? I dont know why the pli image wont upload for me through the flashwizard.

I have dm500s and flashed with commando image, it's really good and easy to use.

anyone please give me some advice...ive got a dreambox dm500-s..ive had it given me ..ive plugged it into the wall and it wont switch off by either the remote or the button on the front all advice is taken .....thanks guys......

Try the power button on the back if it has one ,or last resort pull the plug.................Paul

its not got one paul just the power cable....ive tried holding down the on off button buts its doing nothing at all..

some times these boxes get stuck , usually the green light is on but the box and remote dont function . this is usually easily fixed by removing the current image (thats the tv software) and then flashing a new image , flashing is the name for the method used to send the image into the box .

if flashing wont complete the flash memory may be full . i suggest using dreamup and use the flash erase function (you might be best doing this 2 or 3 times in a row , it only takes a few seconds ) and then reflash the box with a working image .
