Has anyone got one of those motorised dishes ?

Roughly how much should I be looking at to get one installed if I were to go for one on of these? Is it something that only has pluses over just having a sky dish? How long on average do they take to install on a house with no obstacles in the way? Do they work well with the DM800SE ? The reason I ask that, when I thought about it last year and spoke to an engineer, the first thing he asked was what box I have, at the time I had a few different boxes but decided to keep the dreambox as my main sat box, but he said he wouldn't do the install with that box as there are known issues.

No idea what area you are based in but any installer worth his salt will install it to any receiver you may have, I cant quote prices as everyone is different but dependant on size of dish and location and then fine tweaking the dish so you are getting all available Sats for your ARC/Location/Dish size etc... and then spending some time with you going through the receiver and how it works and also setting it up with Softcam/Biss keys if appropriate.

Myself i would normally book a day out to do the job, just to be on the safe side some can take 2-3 hours and some can take longer all depends

I'm in London. Okay from what you've indicated I think I may revisit the idea.

I've had my motorised dish linked to me 800hd and 800se since it came out. Never had any problems and never heard of anybody having problems with them. As digicon says any installer would/should be happy to do the install. 3 hours should be plenty of time and price is dependant on how much the guy wants to charge. I would think ?80-?100 should be sufficient

Any recommended noteworthy dishes worth considering in that case ? To be honest though I don't really want to go too big.

A good Compromise between 80cm - 1m would probably be the Triax TD88cm dish, should get you ample channels there in london including a lot of the Nilesat 7.3? west channels
