    New Sat Setup

N3 is coming and it's time to switch to sat.

I've used DB 500c / eurovox for about 6 years now but have no experience of a sat set up at all.

I'm planning to get a dish installed by a sat firm in bristol (appreciate any recommendations). My question is would a dish installer be a good source of help in setting up a DB as well? Or is that best done by oneself, if u know wot i mean.

Plus there is such a difference in complexion when it comes to satellite. Its not plug and play. Its alot harder and alot of research will need to be done.

Tks guys, much appreciated. I think u r right.

My worry is that i'll be out of my depth. Compared to sat, cable is a piece of p**s (although limited).

I know that sat has so much to offer, and the way to go -- am just worried about getting all the kit and the set up goes t*ts up and i'm completely stuck!

We all get there in the end some quicker than others but we all get there in the end. It all boils down to you and how much effort you are prepared to put into getting your system working. I have even had the wife involved a few times when messing about with my sat.

if its on ebay it 99% chance of being a clone and the 800 clones do have some boot loader problems

Personally i would go the the DM800 due to HDD as its a great thing being able to pause TV and also have a decent EPG on the box.

The DM500HD will however do the job for you, so its your choice.

                    Thanks
