How to set up sat dreambox

Hi peeps

I am a complete novice, i would like to set up a sat dreambox as my dbox2 and all other cable recievers are coming to an end cos of nagra3.

I am subscribed to sky digital so can i unsubscribe wid dem and use their dish to set up my sat dreambox.

I hav no idea whether i need a new dish or i can use this one, do i need to re align the dish and how do i set up the network

i will also need a card so can i use the new white card already in my sky digital reciever after i hav unsubscribed wid sjy

Hi Mate,

You can use the dish yes, if you un-subscribe with sky though you wont get the sky channels, unless using other method's such as CS.

will it not be risky as the signal comes thru a dish and if i stay subscribed sky will clock me

Well using a dreambox is quite pointless if your going to pay for full sky anyway, as there aim is for cardsharing, however if you wish to say get a motorised system then you could then share your sky card and get a lot of channels.

Well thats possible, but i doubt you will get a good sky share without offering anything yourself, you need to either use a payserver, (will be a fraction of sky's cost) or get a cheap european card and start sharing it.

i knw sum1 who will set it all up for me using his server

he gona charge me 250 for first yr including box price and then 150 subscription for all channels every yr ther after

apparently he got 30 people using his server at home for CS

is dat possible, i bet the pic quality is rubbish and it keeps freezing

dats y i am thinking twice about taking his offer

Hmm Thats Expensive Mate, you can pick the box up for 65? Delivered being honest with you, and as for a server your prob looking maybe 130 a year.

Pay servers defeat the objest of cs surely? Buy a cheap card ie jsc sports and share between friends.

Yeh payserver's can defeat the object of CS but then again they give everyone the chance to view TV with ease, no port forwarding and no technical knowledge.

Then buy a hd spiderbox? Servers already on there for ?189. Mind you never tried it and it's new.

SPiderBox isnt open though if im correct, and doesnt have the great functionatly of the DM800HD, plus servers on there but no sky uk

Hi I have my dreambox up and running but i cant find the sky satellites anywhere on it,do i need to add these and if i do how do i do this?

As i just replied in your other thread go to Satellite Configuration, you want No Disq and Astra 28.2
