I take it that green line is south?

The gap between the houses looks OK I think, what's the distance?

That should be ok SR, mine is almost floor lever with walls and a big hedge in the way but it still works spot on..

if you put a metre dish up there , it will be more likely to get wind damage ( moving e.t.c ).

what about in your back garden ? you will be suprised how much better it can be.

i will hunt out my pic in old thread to show ya

here matey have a look http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...ry-chaps-4487/

you only really need to go to 7w - 45e your dish is nearly at 45 east now ( 28.2e ), it doesnt really turn that much as it sounds, and you got loads of play to go to even 45w if you want.

90will be fine if you live any where away from south scotland
                    ..
I would think putting the dish on the side of the house is i slightly better idea, i mean on the front wall on the nearest part to side of the house facing same direction. When on pc i will draw you a diagram as i can barely explain What i mean .

cant really tell on the pictures but has your house not got a chimney cos that may give the best option if your struggling for signal

Never use chimney, very risky, high up And will have alot of wind hit it, the surface area of dish will put alot of pressure per inch on the chimney And it may no longer be a chimney .

Bear in mind M8 that any offset dish you install needs less clearance than you think.
The design of the dish means that the signal angle is ~22 degrees steeper than you think. Some dishes have an offset angle nearer 27 or 30 deg.
You can work out if you have enough clearance pretty easily using basic trigonometry.
The highest sat is at 1W or 5W depending on your location ,thats ~30 degrees clearance and it rolls off on an arc left/right of that 42E is ~14 deg and 30w is ~27 deg.
You can check the angle on dishpointer. It varies on longitude/latitude.

cheers . l have a disc and motor coming and lm going to install close to the other one because l might end up using that one . l will use the pli image , how easy is it to line the dish , is there a set up in pli to find the start settings for the dish ?
