trouble setting up motorised dish

i have a setup at the moment using my old sky dish which works fine,but ive just got a 1.1m triax dish with a motor,i have insatalled the dish,i have set the latitude on the motor to 53,has my latitude for my area is 53.5140 and longitude is 2.4673,i hooked the coax cable from the motorised dish and i cannot get any picture from it at all tried to scan sats but comes back with nothing, i must bee doing somthing wrong can anybody help me plaese...

I dont think you set the lat a 53 M8, there is a table you should have received with you motor that tells you angles. If you have a lat of 53 you elevation angle should be around 37 (motor angle) and your declination angle 7.6, assuming that your motor arm is at 35 degres angle, you dish angle should be around 27.4 (7.6 - 35 = 27.4)

i didnt get no info with the motor has it was second hand i will have another look tomorro so if i have a latitude of 53 the angle i put on the motor should be 27,i got the dish and motot from around twenty miles from wear i live and the guy who had it before me had it setup in the same postion it is now,has you can see wear the bolts have been ect

well got a sat meter today,went up the ladder and connected up the meter,adjusted the dish until the metter had full signal on the meter and the kept adjusting and turned the gain down to zero and the meter ws buzzing at full signal,so came down into the house tried to tune in a sat and nothing,why is this just dont get it ??? i pretty sure ive installed the dish correctly surely i should be ble to pick up at least one sat!!!

do i set the motor up at 0 degrees,then find south,use the singnal meter to find the best signal facing south,which sat would this be im in manchester so would this be a sat colsest to 0 degress ? help me please going mad !
