A tip for people having motor power problems with their dreamboxes.

    Hi peeps,

Just a tip that may help people who have motor power problems with their Dreamboxes.

I've found that swapping the two pin (euro) plug that comes with the DM for a UK 3 pin plug has completely stopped my motor issues.

You can pick the up the figure of eight power leads with a 3 pin UK plug on the internet quite cheaply.

Not quite sure why but it's fixed it but hey I'm not complaining.

Just thought I would share this with my fellow dreambox users

    Hope it helps someone

    How is that !

The power cable from the power supply has only two wires + & - introducing a three pin plug gives you the option of ground, but there is no ground wire into the power supply !

If you theory is correct then by simply grounding the receiver by connecting a small wire from the chassis and ground it to a wall or solid floor would give the same effect, or by grounding you Satellite dish & Motor would also work.

The only other thing that makes it work is the fact the + & - wire when connected when connected to a three pin pug give the correct power alignment to the power supply, the two pin plug and work either way maybe it not supposed to.

Well I used to plug my dreambox into the mains using the 2 pin plug through an adapter. So maybe it was my adapter that was the problem.

Just thought it would be interesting for other people to know.
