phoneline connected to sly box

hi guys just got a good deal from sly half price offer. but wanted to know when its installed and the phone line is connected can i turn box off disconnect the phone line and put the card in my dreambox without them knowing probably a stupid question. but not sure because the phone is connected

You should be ok as long as you haven't taken a multiroom subscription.
Just tell them you only have a mobile phone, you only need a landline for multiroom so they can check you havent passed the 2nd card on to someone else.

Why though apart from CS would you want to put it into a dreambox????? the sky epg on their own box is far superior and easier to use for recordings etc

the problem is i told them i have a landline (stupid me) . i said i didnt wont to put my phoneline in and they said i have to. so not sure if i can just disconect the line when its installed without them knowing b.t.w i didnt get multiroom

hi i used to have sly before i went to cable & i found the only use for the fone line to my box was for pay per view, play games or competitions

I had sky installed in march, told them I had a phone line and gave them the number, when the installer came he said unless you have multi room that they don't contact your box so I have never even had the phone line plugged in and I have heard nothing from sky. I hope this clarifies things for you.

yes u can when they installed my sky i said to the guy that fitted it can i take it out he said yes but do it after i have gone its just that they need to activate the box/card mines been out since he left

Got mines fitted and the installer never even asked about any phone line. I have nothing connected which suits me fine.

i install sly as on buddy scheme even though i hate working for sly .. i just install for family and friends ( being my own company ) ..anyway i can get customer to pay 25 pound for telephone line not connected on install and as part of contract.
