    Watching Sky in Middleeast

    Hi all,

I live in middleeast, and I wish to have Sky subscription. On what satellite does the network broadcast? and what is the subscrbtion type (cable, irdeto cards, etc)? and how can i get a legal subscription? are there any special requirements?

    I'd really appreciate the help.

    anyone?
I came to know that it broadcasts on ASTRA 28.2E
I tried to see if ASTRA covers my region. I got different results. Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com shows it does, while SatBeams - Home says it doesn't.

    any thoughts?

Not really a good enough answer though was it? Sky news and some BBC is available via established packages such as Showtime and Orbit. It may be another case of every tom dick and harry can transmit their shit to the UK but 'they' are selective on what we can watch. Need more research ...in theory if the beam is there it should be 'accessible' somehow.

Sky UK cant be recvd here in Middle East (Gulf at least). Astra 19.2 is about the only astra we can get and then again, 75% of transponders on it.

Tried in several countries. The only one I know that could get a slight signal is in Kuwait, but a clever tech is needed and took about 2 hours of positioning

That is one of the best sites I ever seen. It takes you step by step till you're done with everything.

From my location (Kuwait), only ASTRA 5.0 / 19.2 / 23.5 are available. No 28.2.. I hope I'm not doing anything wrong.
