How do you think you will get footy with out a card or cs? It's not like cable plug and play for sure.

Hmmm @ manic01, where did he mention about cs in his post????????

Hi there scaz, if you are thinking of getting into Sat, I would personally recommend a multi sat system ie:-motorized

As for the box, if its only sd and you do not want to record on it go for the Dreambox 500, if you want to record go for the Dreambox 600 and if you want HD go for a Dreambox 800.

As you want to keep the price down go for a clone box as most of the problems have now been cured.

If you let us know a bit more about the channels you want ie sports movies etc I can advise you a bit more on either cs or genuine card or the very good selection of F.T.A stuff out there.

If you did decide to CS, then you would need to use google to find other forums which do not mind card shring talk to learn that side of things from

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

I started off with a Dreambox 7000 and never got into cs for ages, it all seemed too complicated, until someone explained it all to me, and just think we should be more encouraging to newbies and get them to see how good sat is compared to cable.

DK is a friendly forum, and I personally wouldnt want to see it going the way of all the other forums, where unless you have been in the scene for years they are abusive and insulting and not willing to help newbies.

                              I would suggest you a Vantage VT-1.
I think it is the better answer for beginners.
It has 2 different operating systems and i think it is more for the future.
Also it is a good box which can deliver a real 1080p (not only 1080i) signal!!!
When you want to start with a cheaper box i would suggest a Kathrein UFS-922 box.
