@vmd1916
this is basically my understanding, someone with more experiece and specific info, will probably help you out, later:
the firmware or software that comes with your box, built in (like the bios in a pc) allows you to change channels etc, if it is updated or altered, the box can be used to greater advantage.
this is where the Emulator comes in, the emulator is software which fools the box into believing a subscription has been acquired, sometimes fools the box, that a card is in the box and as you can imagine it has its' advantages.
This is my take on the it, someone who has a wealth of greater knowledge will no doubt give greater assistance.
The Dreambox image is, as the above poster says, the operating system on the Dreambox. There are subtle differences but essentially it?s the Dreambox operating system.
The Dreambox emulator is a small programme designed to read the provider?s card encryption responses. It can either work by sending a decryption request to a card locally or some can work by sending a decryption request to another card situated in another box reachable on your local network or over the Internet.
This place has become impossible. Nothing to eat, freezing cold and now a madman on the prowl outside with eels.
