    newbie looking for help

    Hi,
I have been intrduced to dreambox and am really intrigued.
Looking through this site a lot of it seems very complex but I imagine that is because it is all new.
    A few questions:

I am thinking of getting a dreambox with a hd what is the best value model to get?

Also I curently have sky so I was thinking of using my original disk but I would ideally like a motorised dish setup, how big a job and how dificult is it to install one

Lastly, is there anybody in the NorthWest area of England that would offer their services or does anybody know of any installers as it may be worth paying to get it done from somebody who knows what they're doing!

    Thanks

The best value dreambox would be a clone , if you want one that can take a hard drive this would need to be a dm600 SD about ?100 or dm800 HD ranges from ?150 to ?200.

Installing the motor should be straight forward if you are competent in DIY .
Have a look at the stickie at the top of this section (installing-motor-photos)
and look around the forum there is loads of info here that will set you on your way , but you will need to start doing loads of reading .

    Hope this helps

    cheers

      Thanks for the help.
I am ok at DIY but just a bit unsure as to the actuall dark side of getting to watch all the channels if you know what I mean!
Thats why I was hopeing that there might be somebody local that would be able to talk me through these things and make sure that everything is setup correctly.

The motorised dish is needed for getting channels across various satellites. However, just because you have a dreambox doesnt mean that every channel will be free. A subscription to the channels is still needed. I suggest you google "Card Sharing" as it cant be talked about on here.

            About ?50....

No it's not dangerous provided you use clone safe images and you've no choice but to buy a DM500s clone as the genuine DM500s haven't been made for a few years now.
