My choice would be a clone dm600 very reliable and you have an option to install an ide hard disc drive for recording.

I really like my DM500s, though if i was to get another SD linux box it wouldn't be a Dreambox to be honest...

I'd go for a Technomate TM600, recently set one up for a friend and really impressed with it....Better quality hardware, with display,3 USB connections (2 external,1 internal), rf in/outputs only downside is lack of images available for it, though the UR image is ok...

agreed with dave-h, although i am a massive fan and long time user of dreamboxes i would not touch a DM500 with a barge pole. after all the DM500 was discontinued nearly 5 years ago. meaning that all new boxes with the exception of the new DM500-HD are clones. now i have nothing against clones but take the lid off a original DM500 and one of these newer clones and they dont even resemble each other.

i would however recommend the TM600 ( technomate ) as i have two my self. they run the same E1 based operating system as the DM500 but are of a substantially higher build quality, and include amongst other things x3 usb connectors and once loaded with a UR image there dead easy to setup and run.

              I recommend DM518S

Box is same as a 500 but the tuner and mainboard is different and runs much faster also has 12v point on back to plug your wifi bridge in
