I ve bought a dm800pro from YaoXin electronics and instead of dreambox (on the front cover) it has newbdvb and underneath it it has DVB800 HD PVR

is there any difference as I originally bought the DM800pro (hd)

they sold/sent you a oem unit , these should be cheaper , if you payed for the pro , get back in touch

Hi, its should be exact same as the dm800pro with m tuner, just oem version with no dream branding

I loaded a channel list, scanned for stations and the Free to air are working ok.(italia1, rai due etc) but when i change it to a FTA HD channel a black screen appears.

on the bottom bar on the tv there seems to be signal.

Well all I have to say is I bought 5 receivers from yaoxin and when they arrived 3 out of the 5 receivers did not work so for me I went elsewhere from there as I dont find that acceptable one bit it made me question how many more orders would arrive like that. The supplier I use now I have never had a issue with any of the receivers.

If it had been one I could have accepted that but 3 out of 5 to me is just proof of bad quality.

i only bought once from tony they are quick to take the money but when it comes to delivery he took 2 weeks just to post it so i changed supplier get my boxes within 4 days now with dhl and none have been faulty.

told my supplier if the boxes are faulty i will never buy from you again and they always check them before they send them to me.
they know there are loads of supliers now and dont want to lose custom now.

i get them them to check the box before the dispatch it to me never had a problem might be a thing peeps could tell to their supplier to check before you dispatch it.

so you think that the box is faulty? could it be maybe some settings, or maybe the channel list?

I may be wrong but i cant see a thread with anyone stating 10 receivers. Also it cannot just be assumed that because someone has purchased 10 receivers or however many to sell on that they are selling them as plug and play. Also plug and play would also mean including a server? They could simply be selling them as is or flashed with another image for testing purposes.

I also dont think that receivers going on sale on Ebay is what will end this game. What will end this game is sites selling lines,forums with there premium server forums.

At the same time apart from myself (and people on here ofcourse) I know of no one else really who knows about CS or even a dreambox. I also know people that wouldnt want one as they prefer there Sky+ boxes and so on.

Even if a receiver is or is not a plug and play receiver it is not going to make the slightest difference because if someone wants to do this if they cant get it set up then they will simply do it themselves.

The end of the day this will come to a end could be a few months could be several years, If anyone thinks the likes of Sky and other satellite providers are just turning a blind eye to it and dont know about it yet then they are deluded.

One thing is for certain it is not as large a issue as it is in other countries.
