    Problem with espn hd glitching

Hi guys, I seem to have a problem with ESPN HD ON 28.2 my present server has all channels on 28.2 on Hop1 and they are fine but ESPN HD keeps jumping around. I've tried several servers and while other HD channels are ok, ESPN stutters all the way, making it unwatchable, here's a link to a video [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiUUqxxe2VI"]YouTube - ESPNHD[/ame] I took. I emphasize it's not a problem of server, I have a clone 800hd with gemini image. Any help?

apparently to get them glitch free you need the rev m tuner to totally stop this

Thanks for your suggestions, but what I think is mind boggling is that other hd channels with low SNRs (around 35%) are very good. It's only on ESPN HD frequency that this happens......

Because you tuner as the lads said above is having problems with that particular frequency and channel coding. You never said what tuner version you had but if one of the older revs use an inline amp as said.

Take a look here at a similar thread it may help:

I've got an Alps BSBE2 tuner. Satsmo, thank you for pointing me to that thread. There's a user there, markb28, who was in my same boat, and has resolved by inserting the amp close to the receiver. Now I'm wondering, I've got a sat positioner between dish and rec. Could it be the cause of signal attenuation? Thanks again bud.

Unlikely although worth checking the cabling and RF connections between both. I would however as said in this thread and the linked thread try the in line amp.

If your signal is actually over saturated you can then take it down with an attenuator. These items are cheap and will do the job.

But start with the in line amp and work from there.

                      guys,
i have the same problem now with espn hd.
now i do have a in line amp, and it has been fine up till a few weeks ago.
but my snr has dropped and espn is struggling, just seems to be on 28.2 that i have low snr.
most other hd channels are fine with the low snr.
have checked all conections, they all seem fine.
so my questions are why has my snr all of sudden gone down and is it possible that the inline amp has gone faulty?

                      regards

Try this, disconnect the inline amp, if SNR remains the same, your amp is faulty.

its getting worse, lost a lot of channels, my snr has dropped right down, on some channels as low as 20%. my ber is now kicking in and showing a various number scale.
can still get channels like beeb 1 hd etc, but forget ssn/espn hd.
get quite a lot of non hd, but not all.
moving to 19.2e and my ber flies up, and get a lot of picture breakage.
is this a tuner problem or lnb or dish allignment, or just down to the weather?
took my in-line amp off and it didnt make any diffrence,
its just slowly got worse over the last few weeks.

                              thanks in advance,
                              regards
